We're Allowed Ten Minutes For Tea, Now Which Set
Will It Be?

Ten Minutes for Tea Teaching Notes
* Demo each block slowly and extensively. Give students time to
make at least one block before moving on. As the class progresses,
and whilst each block is explained, you will find that students
are planning their project and often asking questions accordingly.
Each will move their work in a slightly different direction.
* Encourage students to leave the blocks with untrimmed edges.
It makes it easier to join creatively later. The ‘overlap
cut’ explained on the Samplerz leaflet best utilises rough
edges.
* I start off with Cuppaz - it is usually the focus block for
everyone and a good lead in for Teapotz. Have them make one block
in the usual block format then let them attempt stacks.
* Teapotz is a good second block.
* Last but not least is Platez - aka Hugz from Signed with Hugz
and Kissez.
They are made in a different style and aren’t usually the
stars of these quilts, merely fillers who help to flesh out the
story.
* Refer to the three individual patterns for extra notes.
Three Week Class / Two Day Intensive Class / B.O.M.
This quilt works well as a three session class e.g. 3 hours over 3
weeks.
It makes a great two day class, my favourite way of dealing with it
- a lovely lead in to working in Stargazey Style.
It can be broken up into a six month or twelve month Block of the
Month program with the quilt broken into sections like my sample. |
