Napkin Recipez

Napkin Recipez Teaching Notes

*The focus on these classes may be the block or the napkin.
- If the block is the focus then spend time on demonstrating its intricacies before students make their first block. In this case the napkin simply becomes a vehicle for making a quick achievable project.
- If the napkin is the focus then it may be advisable for the students to come with their premade blocks. Time can then be spent in class making well finished napkins.

*Encourage experimentation. We have included ‘Other Ingredients’ and ‘Changing Flavours’ to encourage both student and teacher input. Simply changing sizes may be challenging enough for some students.

*Try making samples with different blocks. You may have a new technique you want to try out or promote. We’d be happy for Napkin Recipez to be used as a vehicle for your ideas.......machine embroidery, redwork, paper pieced blocks?

*Napkin Recipez is a great way to get new customers hooked on stitching.
The projects are easily made in day and skills can be built up in a series of classes. Why not make it a beginners course and teach them the skills of rotary cutting and using their machines?
