Treez

Treez Display and Merchandising

DISPLAY AREA
* Have a specific area to display for full impact. It may be the shop window, it may be at store entry as a welcome display, a well lit back corner to pull customers all the way to the back of the store or it could be near the counter to encourage spenders to be more inspired. Make sure it is well lit!

*offer colour co-ordinated starter packs of fabrics for each pattern instead of or as well as specific kits. Offer them either in the pattern colours or your sample colours.

DISPLAY IDEAS
*A Christmas theme is ideal. Have a potted tree centrepiece - the quirkier the better.
- colour co-ordinate the decorations to go with your (or my) sample quilt.
- hang your largest buttons to decorate.

*Make a stack of treez blocks to incorporate into tree skirts, stockings, santa sacks, table runners and Christmas cards.

*Introduce some potted treez to make a forest. String up wildlife - in particular butterflies, bees and ladybirdz to introduce other Stargazey patterns. Potted gerberas, or faux versions of these funky flowers would look great if you would like to introduce the Daisiez pattern into the arrangement.

*Make your own tree. A large chicken wire cone is easily covered or draped with green fabrics. A row of these in different colourways would encourage customers to think of different colour palettes. Make them as big or as small as you have room for.

*Our sample is a picnic rug - start thinking of trees in the great outdoors. Picnic baskets, crockery, portable chairs or a BBQ and a selection of gourmet food would look enticing.

USING OTHER QUILT STORE MERCHANDISE IN YOUR DISPLAY
*Thinking of Christmas. Search out books and patterns on easy to make decorations, tree skirts etc. Make up or buy in decorations for quick sales.

*Thinking of picnics;
- buy in some picnic baskets, both purpose made and regular baskets.
- look for bright or unbreakable crockery and gather an array of gourmet food.
- search out patterns and books on napery, basket liners and cushions. Make some up and make sure they are for sale!

*Buttons, buttons, twinkly embellishments, luscious glittery threads and then even more buttons are essential to decorate your Christmas Treez version.

FABRIC PACKS
1. Fat quarter packs are also a great starter and easy to cut, sell and display. Include different amounts to suit different pockets and projects; 5 of each, 10 of each, 10/5 split etc.
TRY; green and neutral fabrics
or sky fabrics and contrasting tree fabrics

2. Fold green ‘treez’ fabric into triangles, (fat quarters or 1/8’s would work well). Attach to stick to resemble trees.
- You could layer a few fabrics to form a ‘treez’ collection.
- Make Christmas trees (green or red) with star placed at point

3. Roll fabrics into logs. Cut ‘treez’ logs, ‘background’ logs and ‘trunk’ logs.
