Deb’s Tartanz Quilt Instructions

QUILT SIZE: 51” x 51” (130cm x 130cm)

BLOCKS
Cut two 12” squares from the block background fabrics labelled ‘cut 2’.
Cut one 12” square from the block background fabrics labelled ‘cut 1’.
From each of the red fabrics cut ten strips tapering from 1” to 2” along their lengths. Their lengths will need to be approximately 14”.

Stack the twenty block backgrounds in pleasing pairs. Proceed with slicing and piecing the blocks follow instructions for BLOCK 3.
Arrange, then stitch the completed blocks in a four-by-four setting.
The remaining four blocks may be used in the backing.

BORDER
From the border fabrics cut and piece fabrics to make;
two sides, 6” x 40 1/2”, stitch on,
& a top and bottom border, 6” x 51 1/2”, stitch on.

FINISHING/QUILTING
Sandwich.
Machine quilt around the strips and their centres in the ditch. Free machine quilt curls, swirls, squares and stripes in the backgrounds.
Bind and label.
