Leavez

Leavez Display and Merchandising

DISPLAY AREA
*Have a specific area to display for full impact. It may be the shop window, it may be at store entry as a welcome display, a well lit back corner to pull customers all the way to the back of the store or it could be near the counter to encourage spenders to be more inspired. Make sure your sample is well lit!

*Offer colour co-ordinated starter packs of fabrics for each pattern instead of or as well as specific kits. Offer them either in the pattern colours or your sample colours.

DISPLAY IDEAS
*Collect autumn leaves, cut leaf shapes from card or fabric, or buy some reusable silk leaves to pin or float across the store. They may be strung in your dedicated Leavez area or be a gentle reminder in the green fabric section only.

*Family tree theme. Set up a table with framed family photos surrounded by leaves or Leavez blocks.

*Make up a family tree quilt using the pattern sample as inspiration - families could grow on stalks rather than trees and have their names written and embroidered on the Leavez or backgrounds.

*Seasons theme - spring, summer, winter and fall/autumn could all reflect different colourations in one or a series of quilts.

*Garden theme. This theme has been our initial focus in combining Stargazey Quilts patterns to great effect. Grab your pot plants - real or fake. Gather the gardening equipment- both small tools and large outdoor furniture. Roll out the fake grass to get everyone in the fresh-air mood.

USING OTHER QUILT STORE MERCHANDISE IN YOUR DISPLAY

*Photo transfer paper could be used to print family photos to include in your family tree quilt.

*Permanent fabric markers and also name embroidery supplies would be appropriate if you are working on the family tree theme.

FABRIC PACKS
1. Fat quarter packs are also a great starter and easy to cut, sell and display. Include different amounts to suit different pockets and projects; 5 of each, 10 of each, 10/5 split etc.
TRY: green and blue print fabrics
light green and dark green fabrics

2. Squares of green fabrics including wild and gentle prints, dark and light greens would make for easy purchase. I suggest cutting the squares either 9” or 12” to cater well for choice of block sizes.

3. Try this for pattern starter kits. Present 4” squares of ‘leavez’ greens folded into triangles and placed on a board covered with an array of 16” squares of aqua ‘background’ fabrics. Arrange the ‘leavez’ around some strips of ‘stalk’ fabrics and cover all in cellophane.
