Ladybirdz
Ladybirdz Display and Merchandising
DISPLAY AREA
* Have a specific area to display for full impact. It may be
the shop window, it may be at store entry as a welcome display,
a well lit back corner to pull customers all the way to the back
of the store or it could be near the counter to encourage spenders
to be more inspired.
*offer colour coordinated starter packs of fabrics for each pattern
instead of or as well as specific kits. Offer them either in the
pattern colours or your sample colours.
DISPLAY IDEAS
*Frisbees painted with ladybird markings and pipe cleaner antenae
hanging in the store (or on paper plates/cardboard rounds if you
prefer).
*Pots of faux flowers with some four inch ladybirdz (backed and
quilted) on stickz then planted
*Preserving jars with your best bug fabrics rolled inside
*Preserving jars with some 6 ladybirdz blocks enclosed
*Preserving jars with spots (buttons) enclosed - a black spot jar,
a red spot jar etc
*Tie fabric packs together with black pipe-cleaners - curling the
ends like antennae
USING OTHER QUILT STORE MERCHANDISE IN YOUR DISPLAY
*Stargazey Daisiez, Beez & Hivez, & Butterfliez patterns
team well with Ladybirdz!
*Group your blue machine quilting threads together with your blue
fabrics or blue background fabric packs.
FABRIC PACKS
1. Fat quarter packs are also a great starter and easy to cut, sell
and display. Include different amounts to suit different pockets
and projects; 5 of each, 10 of each, 10/5 split etc.
TRY; blue and of red fabrics
or florals and co-ordinating spots
or bug fabrics with co-ordinating beetle-coat fabrics
2. Cut charm packs;
eg a good selection of 8 squares of beetle coat fabrics
3. Have rolls of backbone/head fabrics so the small
design space needed is easily visualized. They could sit upright
in a glass jar
