Deb’s Heartz Quilt Instructions

QUILT SIZE: 50” x 50” (127cm x 127cm)

BLOCKS
Make twenty-five 8” heartz blocks.
Deb made thirteen green, seven pink and five aqua heartz.
Arrange, then stitch them together in a five-by-five setting.

INNER BORDER
Cut and piece two sides, 1 1/2” x 40 1/2”. Stitch on.
Cut and piece a top and bottom, 1 1/2” x 42 1/2”. Stitch on.

OUTER BORDER
Make twenty 4” Heartz blocks.
Deb made eleven green, four pink and five aqua heartz.

Cut four borders 4 1/2” x 26 1/2”.
Arrange these on your design wall and place five heartz in each corner.
Stitch two heartz on each end of the side borders. Stitch to the quilt body.
Stitch three heartz on each end of the top and bottom borders. Stitch on to the quilt body.

FINISHING/QUILTING
Sandwich.
Machine quilt around the blocks, the inner border and the heartz in the ditch. Free machine quilt curls, swirls and hearts in the backgrounds and a stylised curly echo in each heart.
Bind and label.
