Deb’s Cuppaz Table Topper Quilt Instructions

QUILT SIZE: 44” x 44” (112cm x 112cm)

CENTRE
Cut twenty-five 6 1/2” squares from assorted teal, green and purple fabrics.
Stitch the squares together in a five-by-five setting.

INNER BORDER
Cut strips from inner border fabric;
Cut two sides 1 1/2” x 30 1/2”. Stitch on.
Cut two sides 1 1/2” x 32 1/2”. Stitch on.

BLOCKS
Make twenty-four 6” cuppaz blocks using assorted fabrics on a teal background. Arrange them around the centre before trimming to size;
Trim the four corner blocks to the usual 6 1/2” square.
On each side trim three blocks, 7” x 6 1/2” and two blocks, 6 3/4” x 6 1/2”.
Stitch five blocks together to form the sides. Stitch on.
Stitch seven blocks together to form the top and bottom. Deb placed her corner cupz so they ‘turned the corner’. Stitch on.

FINISHING/QUILTING
Sandwich.
Machine quilt around the squares, cuppaz and the inner border. Free machine quilt wavy crosshatched lines over the centre squares and swirls of steam around the cuppaz.
Bind and label.
