Cuppaz

Cuppaz Display and Merchandising

DISPLAY AREA
*Have a specific area to display for full impact. It may be the shop window, it may be at store entry as a welcome display, a well lit back corner to pull customers all the way to the back of the store or it could be near the counter to encourage spenders to be more inspired. Make sure your sample is well lit!

*Offer colour co-ordinated starter packs of fabrics for each pattern instead of or as well as specific kits. Offer them either in the pattern colours or your sample colours.

DISPLAY IDEAS
*Get out all the crockery you own. Visit a junk shop to buy or borrow. Stack up your finds in an overblown display to complement the stacks on the new pattern front.

*Set up a tea table in a prominent area of the store. Invite customers to sit and have a cuppa with each other. You might get them to sign the tablecloth or your cuppaz sample in a show of friendship and conviviality.

*Set up a children’s tea table either in your ‘play’ area or in a store window.

*Think ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and a Mad Hatters tea party. Incorporate copies of the book, hats, clocks in a funky, wonky over-the-top display.

*Have some speciality teas, cookies, chocolates and tea or coffee making implements available for sale.

USING OTHER QUILT STORE MERCHANDISE IN YOUR DISPLAY
*A variety of applique needs for the handles can be arranged here - pins, needles, fusible web, speciality threads, thimbles, marking pens etc.

*Alternatives for the handles include rick rack and bias tape.

*Laces and braids to decorate the tablecloth.

*Books and patterns on dining room/ kitchen home dec. Make up some place mats and tea cosies as inspiration to match your sample quilt.

FABRIC PACKS
1. Fat quarter packs are also a great starter and easy to cut, sell and display. Include different amounts to suit different pockets and projects; 5 of each, 10 of each, 10/5 split etc.
TRY; blue and white print fabrics
overblown florals and decorator stripes
stripez and spotz

2. Roll up fat quarters and pack them in a mug - it may be one with your store’s logo.

3. The new pattern front is made from ‘Stripez & Spotz’. A fat quarter pack of the full collection is a wonderful start for the quilt.
