Catz
Catz Display and Merchandising
DISPLAY AREA
* Have a specific area to display for full impact. It may be the
shop window, it may be at store entry as a welcome display, a well
lit back corner to pull customers all the way to the back of the
store or it could be near the counter to encourage spenders to be
more inspired. Make sure it is well lit!
*offer colour co-ordinated starter packs of fabrics for each pattern
instead of or as well as specific kits. Offer them either in the
pattern colours or your sample colours.
DISPLAY IDEAS
*Pull out and display all your best cat fabrics. Look out for cat
colors, cat fur texture, fabrics that work as markings (big spots
or stripes).
*Think of things that work with catz - dogz, butterfliez, fish,
outdoors prints etc. These could make great borders, backgrounds
or give theme ideas.
*Puss in boots, cat in the hat, the owl and the pussycat, three
little kittens that lost their mittens.... take a theme and run
with it. Make small samples illustrating the theme, collect props,
pull out merchandise and have fun.
*Cat dishez are a wonderful for displaying buttons.
*Make up some Beaniez Recipez cushions for the princess to curl
up on. Immortalize your cat on top and put other blocks around the
edge (fishez, daisiez, butterfliez). Your cats name would look great
on this.
*Cat napping for humans? How about whipping up some very simple
cuddle quilts - simple squares indispersed with a few catz blocks
is all that is needed.
USING OTHER QUILT STORE MERCHANDISE IN YOUR DISPLAY
*Is your shop into knitting? Those three little kittens could
be looking for their mittens amongst your wool. Perfect time to
pull out the funky mittens patterns.
*Nursery Rhyme and cartoon cat characters abound. Look at combining
Catz with other cat merchandise.
*Accesorize with glitzy buttons and bells for collars and catz
jewellry.
*Look out eye buttons, either plain black, colored or proper ‘eye’
bear buttons.
*Buy some alphabet buttons or beads so that students may immortalise
their moggies name on the collar.
