Applez Placemat Instructions
I teamed my placemat with a napkin from the ‘Napkin Recipez’
pattern.
I made the ‘salad sandwich’ version of woven plaids
but stitched on a 4” Applez block. I haven’t included
this in the instructions or requirements
Some of my plaids were kept on grain and one featured on a slant.
PLACEMAT SIZE: 19 1/2” x 14 1/2” (50cm x 37cm)
BLOCKS
Make one 6” Applez blocks.
Trim to 6 1/2” x 6 1/2”.
INNER BORDER
Cut two sides, 2” x 6 1/2”. Stitch on.
Cut a top and bottom, 1 1/2” x 9 1/2”. Stitch on.
OUTER BORDER
Cut two sides, 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”. Stitch on.
Cut a top and bottom, 3 1/2” x 19 1/2”. Stitch on.
FINISHING/QUILTING
Sandwich.
Machine quilt around the applez and the borders in the ditch.
Free machine quilt a curvy vine to fill the outer border space.
Bind and label.
