Stargazey patterns are colourful and contemporary in look and innovative
in technique. The designs are 'crooked' in concept - every block
is a little different, none are perfect, all are easy and fun to
make! Your machine will be quickly humming with few templates, appliques
or foundations in sight. Most patterns have multiple block sizes
too, so that you can make quilts the size and setting you desire.
With will illustrated step-by-step booklets, you should be stitching
freely, quickly! See ordering pages for
purchasing details.
Despite aspiring to perfection, and numerous edit checks, we still
have our OOOPs moments where things just don't read the way the
are meant to. If you see the OOOPS, please check your copy to see
if there may be changes needed.

Angelz
These Guardian Galz and Christmas Cheerleaderz are here to
grant your wishez. Grounded and ready to guard you or hovering
freely on the lookout for ways to do good, these happy sprites
stand boldly at the ready, aiming their wands. They could
be fairiez but with their sweet faces you know they must be
Angelz!
In innovative Stargazey style there is no need for applique
or templates, only design-as-you-go techniques that are easy
enough for all to master. To make life sweeter, their facez
and wingz are aren’t pieced in, instead their curves
are easily stitched with a turn through technique. I’ve
only made them in one size, 12” square but consider
this merely a place to start.
Options abound. Start by changing clothez, hair, facez,
gender, wingz, add shoez and then see where these charmers
lead you. |

Beez & Hivez
Time for Stargazey gals to move outside again and consider
Beez buzzing around their Hivez - what lovely images they
conjure! Your vision may include healthy country air, it may
be closer to home in your own beautiful flower filled garden,
or may stretch to include the bountiful edible gift these
busy creatures give to us.
To help you fashion your busy bee vista Ive designed
two blocks. Sizes in both range from the tiny 4 through
6, 8 to 10. Both the hivez and beez tailz
are made from strips easily pieced for a great graphic look.
In the usual Stargazey style we have simple cutting and straight
stitching, but with more pieces here than in many Stargazey
patterns these blocks just arent the quickest blocks
around.
Get busy honey!

Butterfliez
Nature lovers delight as a crooked collection of Butterfliez
and Mothz fly your way!
First there came Butterfliez, but Ive also given you the
recipe for Mothz, a simplified version using fewer fabrics and
processes. Both blocks can be made in four sizes, 4, 6,
8 and 10. My sample has a variety of both in most
sizes.
You will be designing them without templates, as they are cut
in the usual Stargazey style from squares and rectangles. Each
crooked creature is unique. Making them is addictive.
A great pattern to use up your wildest prints in the wingz and
the biggest stripes in the body.
Spread your wingz with me!
PLEASE NOTE:
The packaging on this pattern has changed. It has been reformatted
and freshly edited and will be bigger and whiter!!! |

Catz
I must fess up straight away - I’m a dog lover
through and through. Cats have never yet matched it for me
in exuberance, although I am a sucker for their beguiling
purr. Perhaps if they were available for walks I’d feel
better about them?
Stargazey Catz though, are all charm and no clawz. Their
cheeky grins and wide eyes will attract even hardhearted dog
lovers like me. They still won’t help with the exercise
but they give the smile muscles a work out!
I’ve designed two blocks, a simple Catz Face in 4”,
6”, and 8” blocks and also Sitting Catz in 6”,
8” and 10” blocks. Both blocks make a feature
of the collar, a lovely way to inject more colour. Both are
easy to make with no finicky matching of points.
Make them in your cats’ colours or markings and your
princess will be sure to curl up on your quilt with a self
satisfied purrrrr. |

Cuppaz
Come and have a cuppa with me and transfer one of my favourite
occupations into fabric. Make your quilt milky, dark, sweet
or just stir things up with a spoonful of Stargazey Style.
For these crooked cuppaz you are given a recipe but no templates
- we start with simply cut squares and rectangles then you trim
and design as you go. Make your quilt as individual as you are
with this free method. No exact 1/4 seams or perfectly
matched corners are needed in these blocks.
My sample is made in 6 blocks and sections of 6
blocks. You are also given the recipe for 4 & 8
blocks. Choose any size block, any number of blocks or a combination
of sizes. Design your quilt to your taste!
The handles here have been hand appliqued on, but other methods
may be used- machine applique, rick-rack or bias tape for example.
Definitely time for a Cuppa! |

Daisiez
A very hip little block, this one. Reminiscent of the sixties
and flower power, if you want it to be, or just delicately pretty
with a more subtle choice of fabric.
We start with the usual Stagazey style of working from simple
squares and rectangles, then we get slashing and restitching
making these crooked blocks the easiest around.
Three blocks sizes to choose from; 6, 8 and 10
with only three fabrics per block. I have pieced in the centrez
but it would also be very effective to use a big button, yo-yos
or even an appliqued circle.
Imagine the sweet dreams youll be having under these flower
fields! |
